Abundant Living Counselling

‘I came that they may have life and have it abundantly.’

John 10:10

I am Yvonne, a highly motivated and skilled counsellor. With a Masters in Counselling and a Post-Graduate Certificate in Education, I bring a wealth of experience and expertise to my practice. I am passionate about helping individuals navigate through life's challenges and empowering them to achieve their goals.

Empowering Neurodivergent Learners: 20 Years of Education Advocacy and Support

For more than 20 years, I have dedicated myself to the field of education, specialising in providing support and guidance to neuro-divergent individuals. My experience encompasses teaching and catering to the unique needs of young people, allowing me to develop a deep understanding of their diverse experiences.

I pursued a career in counselling due to my firm belief that maintaining good mental health is essential to living an abundant life to its utmost potential.

In addition to my private practice, I have provided counselling services at two organisations in Greenwich and Tower Hamlet in London. It is an honour to provide a warm, empathetic, and understanding approach, meet clients, and listen attentively to their distinctive stories. My counselling services cater to adults and young people aged 18 and above.

I adopt an 'integrative' approach to counselling. This means I utilise various counselling modalities based on each client's needs, considering their preferences and goals. This may involve implementing cognitive behavioural therapy strategies to tackle negative thought patterns or examining the influence of childhood attachment patterns on their current relationships.

I routinely partake in additional professional development sessions. Recently, this has covered:

  • Counselling ADHD Samantha Davies
  • Introduction to Suicide Awareness Emma Chapman
  • Compassion Focused Therapy (CFT) for Trauma Dr Chris Irons
  • Working at Relational Depth Mick Cooper
  • Bereavement Awareness Nicola Hughes

I am a Registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and the Association of Christian Counsellors (ACC).

The BACP is a professional body in the UK for Counselling and Psychotherapy. As a registered member, I adhere to the BACP Ethical Framework.

I possess professional insurance and am registered with the ICO (Information Commissioner's Office), ensuring compliance with the GDPR regulations.

As a counsellor, I am here to offer you a safe and supportive environment where you can explore and navigate your path towards self-discovery. My goal is to empower you to reflect on your life and embrace positive changes.

My Approach

Using an integrative counselling model, I adopt a compassionate and unbiased approach, offering unwavering emotional support to my clients. I offer a space for you to reflect on the challenges or issues you are experiencing in a secure and private environment with someone who is not part of your everyday life. Together, we can navigate through your situation, discovering fresh perspectives and gaining a deeper understanding of yourself along the way.

Counselling is not about providing answers or advice but rather about empowering you to make your own decisions and changes.
